Primitive and New Cookie Cutters.

             http://savoringtoday.com/2010/12/01/christmas-traditions-grandmas-molasses-cookies/

Cookie cutters can be very versatile.  Beside the baking of yummy cookies, they can be used in crafty ways. You can use either old or new ones. I like this "chandelier", what a great focal point this would make.  Making shapes for cutting watermelon or pancakes. Just displaying them in a primitive wooden bowl.  Or making swags & ornaments out of them. They can also be used as napkin holders.  I can't wait to bake cookies with my children during the holidays.

Vintage Chic Using A Soft Color Palette

I like to say that my style is "vintage chic".  It is not hard to decorate this way. But, first you have to accept the notion that your decor does not have to match.  Things don't have to be new. One of the most important things is choosing what you like.

When you are deciding on a palette of colors that you want for your "vintage chic" design,  choose soft colors. Light blue, white, cream, soft pinks, and greens. Floral designs are a great way to add colors. Adding different textures such as quilts or lace tablecloth's. Just as in "cottage chic" roses and peonies are a must.

Vintage Luggage

I love the look of vintage leather. The smell and feel of worn out pieces of luggage. I can only dream of the places they have been. Paris, Rome, Egypt,  or maybe even Alaska.

Shabby Chic and Flea Markets

Fleas Markets have always fascinated me. You can find treasures from days gone by to more recent times. One thing I have learned is "if you can afford it now, you should buy it. Because it probably won't be there again."

Walking around flea markets is a wonderful way to pass the day. The amazing things that can peak your interest is infinite.

Everything from vintage dresses.

To quilts, fabric and sewing accessories.

Finding those needful items that you can use for decorating.

The cozy feel of an antique store as you walk through the door. Nostalgic  feelings abound and a peaceful feeling settles in your soul.

Vintage Black Satin Prom Dress

Vintage prom dresses are making a big come back. They bring a nostalgic feeling that gives a generation of young men and women a connection with their parents. Or it can just be a fun thing to do. Check out this black satin dress with big silver and black bow. Donna Summer would be proud.

Vintage Linen At It's Best

If you love vintage linens and doilies, but not sure how to display them. You will love this blog. It gives great ideas and methods on how you may use these linens and create a masterpiece that you can give as gifts or hang them in your own home. Enjoy.
