Some people like all the glitz and glamour of Christmas. I like to think of myself as a "simple country girl". On my farm things are pretty quite. The first snow has fallen. The barn has been cleaned out and the animals have enough hay and feed. The pond hasn't frozen over yet so there are a few birds fluttering around. Living on a farm, the chores must come first. This way of life is not for everyone. But at Christmastime it is easy to let things get away from us. We need to slow down, spend time with your family and loved ones. Keep it simple. Read a good book. Get the old sleds out. Make hot chocolate. Sit in front of the fireplace. Make cookies. Visit a nursing home. Be kind. Go to church. Pick out your tree as a family.
