Poinsettias The Best Loved Plant For Christmas

I love poinsettias. There I said it. Since I moved to Florida I can plant them and they will last the season.   I have seen them grow to 4 or 5 feet. This versatile plant can be used both inside and outside. By adding some greenery and candles to create a beautiful centerpiece. Adding them to the entryway of your home, with a big wreath , a red ribbon add some lights and you have a very welcoming doorway for everyone to enjoy. They come in many colors red, pink and white. I have seen them with sparkles and painted many colors. Below are some cool pics. Enjoy.

Simple Country Christmas

Some people like all the glitz and glamour of Christmas. I like to think of myself as a "simple country girl". On my farm things are pretty quite. The first snow has fallen. The barn has been cleaned out and the animals have enough hay and feed. The pond  hasn't frozen over yet so there are a few birds fluttering around. Living on a farm, the chores must come first. This way of life is not for everyone.  But at Christmastime it is easy to let things get away from us. We need to slow down,  spend time with your family and loved ones. Keep it simple. Read a good book.  Get the old sleds out.  Make hot chocolate. Sit in front of the fireplace. Make cookies. Visit a nursing home. Be kind. Go to church. Pick out your tree as a family. Find a little peace in your life. Enjoy these photos.
